Chantelle is a Bolivian-American photographer, multimedia journalist, activist based in Austin,TX
Her work focuses on issues ranging across immigration, social & environmental justice, preserving Indigenous cultures, and reproductive justice.
Chantelle’s journalistic work has been published in VICE, PRI The World, Remezcla, Los Tiempos, The Riveter Magazine, The Culture-ist, and Cultural Survival. She has reported on-the-ground in Bolivia during the 2019 presidential elections, from deep in Ecuador’s Amazon as Indigenous peoples fight against extractive threats, and from border town communities along the U.S./Mexico Border whose lives are impacted by the current political climate.
Aside from journalism, she has applied her multimedia & digital expertise to support community art projects, non-profits, and activism campaigns. You can learn more about her work outside of journalism here.
Her last name means kiss of the wolf in Italian (hence her domain). Frida Kahlo & Maxima Acuña cover her walls. She is most fluent in Spanglish. Can usually be found barefoot. And has a knack for starting impromptu dance parties.
